Hi, I'm Doug!

Hello world! My name is Doug, but you can call me Dougie. I started this blog because I am really excited about my life, and I think I'm just the luckiest dog ever! I'm going to tell you a bit about my life story right now.

I don't really remember much about the first year of my life ... most of those memories are blurry ... something about white vans still bothers me though. But I was about a year old when I was brought to the Humane Society, where I stayed for a little while, hoping to find a good home. I was so excited when I got brought to a great place, but then things got bad. You see, I had the sniffles (I guess they call it kennel cough), and my mommy didn't want to pay for me to go to the doctor, so she took me back to the shelter.

I wasn't too happy about this -- I don't like the cages there, and other animals drive me crazy, so having to see those cats running around -- well, that's just not right.

But I did my best to be a good dog. Nobody knew my name yet, so they decided to call me Vincent while I was there. I just stayed in my cage and hung out. All the other dogs around liked to bark, but I wasn't really that into being noisy.

But then one day some guy came in and wanted to take me for a walk. Now I should mention, I'm really the curious type. I don't do well on a leash and I kept pulling him all over. But he decided he liked me anyway. We hung out for awhile, threw some toys around, I sat on his lap for a bit and licked his face, and he petted me. I decided I kind of liked him.

Well, the shelter was kind enough to let me adopt this guy, so now I have a new daddy, and I love it!

I got to go to his house (er, MY house *smiles*) last Saturday, and he gave me a crate, some food, some blankets, and a lot of attention for the next two days!

Then Tuesday came and he had to go to work -- I was so worried that he wouldn't come back. But he did. And that seems to happen every day! He gates off a couple of rooms so I can move around, and then takes the gates down when he's home. He's been taking me out to walk three times a day and I love it!!!

Now, I'm not perfect, mind you. I did accidentally nip his hand once and pooped on the hardwood floor twice. But overall, I've been doing well, and I love it!

I'll be posting back here from time to time as new and interesting things happen..

Talk to you later -- hope life isn't too RUFF on you. heheh ... that's a dog joke.

Anyway, I hope you check back. Have a bow wow wow day!
